Heartfelt is a tabletop RPG subsystem for playing out social interactions with structured game mechanics. It does for social interactions what a combat or action system does for physical interactions. This is not a standalone game, it is an optional two-page subsystem that you can add to other tabletop roleplaying games (as long as they don't have their own mechanics for this area). It is designed to be compliant with the MOSAIC Strict framework, which means it isn't dependent on any other mechanics from outside this module, just things from the fictional world of the game like the things characters say to each other or the emotions they're feeling. To play you'll need these rules, a bunch of polyhedral dice, some slips of paper, and a drawstring bag or other container for holding and randomly drawing slips of paper.

The dice mechanics of this module were inspired by the conflict mechanics in the indie TTRPG classic Dogs in the Vineyard by Vincent Baker. In contrast to the stats and traits that give you extra dice in DitV, in this module the emotions that arise over the course of the conversation are your main source of extra dice.

Some great thinking going on here to mechanise emotional stakes, and I'm so impressed by the felt background!
